Ferrari V12 (Tipo F113 B)

An icon of Ferrari engineering from the 1980s.
The name Testarossa means “red head” and refers to the red-painted cam covers, continuing a Ferrari tradition that dates back to the Testa Rossa racing cars of the 1950s. The Testarossa’s 4.9-litre twelve-cylinder engine is a flat 180° V12 and therefore not a boxer engine. Its low overall height contributes to a low centre of gravity, while the side-mounted radiators are supplied with cooling air through the distinctive side intakes and strakes.

Technical specifications:
4.9 litres (4,943 cc), 180° V12
DOHC per cylinder bank, 4 valves per cylinder (48 valves in total)
Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection
